This small yacht is designed for cruising and daysailing in semi-protected waters. Unlike many boats in this size range the
Eagle Harbor offers full sitting headroom while retaining an attractive profile. The V-berths are a full 6' 2" and the cockpit seats are 6' 6".
The cabin includes space for a two-burner alcohol stove and built-in ice box or storage bin. The cockpit bridge deck houses
a standard size marine portable head that can be accessed via the cockpit or the cabin, enhancing the privacy of this important function!
While designed primarily as a cruiser, the hull lines are optimized for the higher end of the speed range. Maximum beam is carried
well aft to increase power and prevent squatting due to crew weight. The underbody consists of a separated fin keel and spade
rudder for minimum wetted surface and good lift upwind. 700 lbs. of outside ballast ensures good stability and self-righting capability.
This is a stiff boat that reaches hull speed easily and stays there with little fuss. Draft has been held to only three feet so trailer launching
and retrievals should present few problems on a decent ramp. Construction is of wood strip-planking with glass cloth sheathing for extra strength and durability.
Bulkheads and decking are built from marine ply. The plan set includes computer-generated offsets for all mold stations, expanded transom and stem profile.
Full-size patterns are also included for the fin keel and rudder lifts. As in all our designs, no lofting is required.
