Originally designed for a client on the East coast. This shallow-draft, beachable daysailer is an interesting blend of traditional good looks combined with modern construction methods and materials. The rig features a rotating, composite mast with wishbone boom and self-tacking jib. for those who like to sail fast off the wind there is also an optional asymmetrical spinnaker. A non-rotating, wood or aluminum marconi rig is also detailed for those who require a less expensive, lower tech alternative. No matter how you rig her out, this design will be found to be well balanced and easy to sail yet her light weight means that performance will be anything but traditional. Don’t be deceived by her looks, with the optional chute up this boat will blast right through the traditional hull speed barrier leaving a lot of surprised people in her wake. If you just want to relax and watch the world go by, her balanced lines and dual reef points will let her sail like a lady in most conditions. If the wind dies, power up her permanently mounted electric motor for silent and clean auxiliary power. There’s plenty of room to stretch out in her elegant, 11’ long cockpit. Two bulkhead hatches forward provide access to the cuddy. With her centerboard and kick-up rudder raised, draft is only 14" so there are few places you won’t be able to sneak into under power.

Construction is wood/epoxy strip planking with plywood bulkheads varnished wood trim. Decks may be painted or optionally finished with a West system teak strip and epoxy overlay. The mast is shop-built with an easily shaped balsawood core and carbon fiber sheathing. The plan set for this design is extremely detailed with full size patterns for construction molds, bulkheads, stem and foil lifts. Patterns are also included for many of the smaller parts as well, speeding construction and increasing accuracy. All measurments on the plans are given in English and metric formats.
